Medical Transcription Training Course

Entrance Requirements

To qualify for the Transcribe SA program there are no formal entrance requirements. The following criteria are recommended:

• A minimum typing speed of 40 words per minute
• Working knowledge of Microsoft word
• A proficiency in the English language
• An self-motivated individual
• Attention to detail

Minimum Computer System Specifications Required

To work effectively through the on-line training program you will require the following minimum requirements

Hardware
128 megabytes (MB) of RAM (256 MB or higher recommended)
56 KBPS modem (Broadband-DSL cable modem recommended)
Super VGA (800 x 600) or higher resolution adapter and monitor
CD-ROM or DVD drive
Sound card and speakers with headphone port (headphone is recommended)
Available USB port or serial port (for foot pedal)
Color Printer (Not Required)

Internet Service Provider Account

Windows 2000/XP with SP2/Vista
Internet Explorer 6.x/7.x or Firefox 2.x

AOL Users
You may use your AOL Internet connection to take the course; however, you will need to use the standard Microsoft Internet Explorer browser or the Firefox browser instead of the AOL browser.
